Kid's Night at Station 6

Tonight was kids' night at fire station 6!
Although it was a little chilly, grandpa kept the newest edition to the family toasty! (I LOVE this picture!)
 Allie and Molly joined us...
the only time I get photos of myself is when Allie takes them!

Molly is too pretty and photogenic for her own good, just like her mom...
 my little tomboy!
the cousins all had a great time together!

 oh, Drake...

we got to ride in the old Studebaker!

 "shotgun!!"

Natalie's 7th Birthday!

Today we celebrated Natalie's 7th birthday with her choice of theme: penguin.  Let me tell you how not easy it is to throw a penguin party when it's not December.
 tissue paper puffs

blue punch with a lime ice ring

fruit salad, veggies, crackers, punch, water, and of course, cake...
 a penguin cake!
I made this little dude using the paper towel method and rolled fondant.
One of the few photos of my dad smiling.
 Some party animals...
 and a party pooper.
 Big seven!
 Beautiful girls!

 Proud grandparents!

 Awake!

Happy birthday to our sweet little girl!

Lydia's Arrival

After nine long months of waiting...Lydia has finally made her appearance! I had my regular appointment Wednesday morning, where I measured at five centimeters dilated and ninety percent effaced.  Dr. Lunt asked if I wanted my membranes swept.  I sure did!  Nine hours later Kelt and I were hanging out at home when Robert and Palma stopped by to say hello.  They'd been there for five minutes when I thought I started feeling contractions.  About an hour later we were headed to the hospital!
 Getting ready to push!
About ten minutes of pushing later...
 Kelt cutting the cord
 8 lbs, 1 oz
20 inches

Happy birthday Lydie!

 Lydia meeting her big brother...
 and her big sister!
 Proud new daddy!
And, since there are pictures of everyone else in the family in this post, here is a random shot of Shadow on his favorite jogging trail!

Natalie's Funny Phrases

Natalie has been saying some hilarious things lately...

"Mom, can I have one of your chocolates?"
"No, because Dad gave them to me and they're special"
"But that's not fair"
"Well, hon, life isn't fair"
As she skips out of the room: "My life is fair...except when you don't give me things"

"Can we have some oranges?"
"Sure, but wash your hands first. I know you two were out there playing in the dirt"
"How do you know?"
"I know everything"
"Did you know there was a bomb in space?"
"No..."
"Ha-ha! Then you don't know everything!"

Valentines 2012

Natalie chose the "Ipod" (conversation hearts in the box and mini-Reeses)...

and Drake wanted to give out glow sticks...

Natalie's First Grade Patriotic Program

This afternoon, Natalie's class held a Patriotic Program...

I got several videos, which is good, because my photos didn't turn out so hot...she was not smiling in most of the better shots, and smiling in almost all of the ones with kids in front or that turned out blurry...

it was an ADORABLE program, though, and now Kelt and I know why she's been singing "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" in the bathtub!
